Currently all the processes at court regarding court files rely on paper. This has some drawbacks - if a paper was wrongly added to a court file or even worse, sent to the wrong court, the paper has to be sent back to the right court and added to the right court file. At the moment the delivery of court files is done by post and therefore rather expensive. Using paper is also a security risk, files can be easily tampered with or pages can get lost in the delivery process.

We want to improve certain points in the filing/delivery/signing process at court by digitalization:
[Filing]: New content of a court file can be either already digitized or not, the latter has to be manually scanned before we can take further steps. OCR is applied to the digitized pages and they are assigned to the right court file (if the case number is derivable). If the case number can not be derived, assignment is done manually.
[Office work]: The office has to assign the new page/s to the right section in a court file.
[Judge work]: The judge gets the court file with the newly added page and adds notes or orders where necessary.
[Judge work]: If there is a trial - the judge has to be able to create a reference file of the case which can be used in trial.
[Trial]: To close a case, all parties involved have to sign the verdict - this will be also done in a digital way.

Our three performance criterias:
1) Compare the speed of the new digital process to the paper process of a similar court case
2) Measure of the cost via a table of various cost of each task
2.1) Saving money because of digitalization (no need to send pages physically)
3) Number of Scan files successfully with OCR

To increase Knowledge of the material, we want to model the BPMN with the program Activity and use the output in Camunda as Source. For the test environment we implement a kind of user interface e.g. for the task with manual work of missed scanned files
